Each piece of ribbon has the name of a graduate of the MAEEC program from the first cohort in 2003 to the last cohort, 2019, that used the box, with each cohort in a different colour of ribbon. This chain was created in around 2007 or so, but neither Peter nor Rick can remember exactly when it was!
